Would you like to experience the magic of ski touring and take your first steps away from the marked slopes? Our beginner ski and snowboard touring course in Davos Klosters is the perfect choice for anyone who wants to discover this sport in a safe and professionally guided way in Switzerland.

Led by fully qualified local guides, you will explore the most beautiful entry-level routes in Graubünden while enjoying the impressive winter landscape of the Alps. The courses are held in English and German – ideal for international guests..

Why choose a ski touring course in Graubünden?

Graubünden is one of the best regions in Switzerland for beginner ski touring. Why?

  • reliable snow conditions
  • varied, beginner-friendly terrain
  • safe, well-planned routes
  • short access thanks to mountain lifts
  • great conditions well into spring

The Davos Klosters region offers ideal conditions to learn ski touring in a relaxed setting and small groups – the perfect way to start.

What to expect from this course

Our beginner course is designed for skiers and snowboarders (with splitboard) who would like to try ski touring in a safe environment.

Efficient ascent – more time for the descent
We use the Parsenn cable car for most of the ascent. This means you only need to climb around 400 vertical metersunder your own power – ideal for beginners with solid skiing technique. That way you can save your energy for the best part: the descent in fresh powder!

Safe – in all weather conditions
If the weather is not ideal, our guides will choose routes below the tree line to ensure a safe and enjoyable day in the mountains.

Individual tips for your technique
Throughout the course, you’ll receive personal feedback to improve your off-piste skiing or riding – whether you are on skis or a splitboard.

What you will learn

  • efficient movement techniques with touring skis or a splitboard
  • basic skills for safe ski touring
  • tips for skiing in deep powder
  • behaviour in off-piste terrain & essential safety know-how
  • how to choose the right equipment
    – lightweight gear for the ascent
    – more performance-oriented gear for the descent

Who is this course for?

Our beginner ski touring course in Davos Klosters is ideal for:

  • skiers or snowboarders with solid technique
  • people who feel comfortable on black runs
  • guests who can control their speed even in poor visibility
  • anyone with first experiences off piste

Important: If you have never skied in deep snow before, we recommend booking a private lesson first – we are happy to advise you.

For guests who mainly want to improve their skiing technique in off-piste terrain and deep snow, we recommend a classic ski lesson in the ski area. You don’t really learn to ski on ski tours – you simply don’t cover enough vertical meters. A private ski lesson next to the piste is far more efficient and can be built up methodically.

Equipment can easily be rented in Davos Klosters.
The course is suitable for both English-speaking and German-speaking guests, as it is conducted in English and German.
