Summer presents the ideal opportunity for children to explore nature and be active in the fresh mountain air. With longer days and pleasant temperatures, a wide range of outdoor activities opens up, encouraging healthy and engaging leisure time. That’s why we at Ride and Smile have created a special summer program for children that combines everything summer should offer – movement, fun, and nature – all set in the beautiful surroundings of Davos Klosters.

Mornings are dedicated to our Mountain Bike Course, designed for all levels. Whether your child is a beginner or already experienced on the trails, our expert instructors help improve technique, confidence, and safety in a playful and motivating way.

Afternoons are filled with varied outdoor activities, adapted to the weather, including swimming, the adventure park, climbing, bowling, table tennis, scooter rides, archery, and even a treasure hunt.

You can book a full day or just half a day, and freely choose how many days your child will participate – whether it’s a single day or the entire week. Below you will find exemplary information on a program day. 

Program day:

  • Morning – MTB Course for Kids
  • Time: 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Lunch break: 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Key Learning Goals for Children (Ages 4–7)

In our bike courses for young children, we focus on building confidence, safety, and riding skills through fun and age-appropriate activities. Here are the most important learning objectives:

  • Mounting and dismounting safely – starting and stopping independently
  • Riding in a straight line – improving balance and bike control
  • Braking with both brakes – stopping safely and in a controlled way
  • Cornering and slalom riding – developing steering and coordination
  • Riding while standing – for better balance and control on uneven terrain
  • Riding with one hand – an important step toward using hand signals
  • Riding on a pump track – playful training for rhythm and body control
  • Riding over small obstacles – such as ramps or roots
  • Understanding basic traffic rules – how to behave on bike paths
  • Recognizing traffic signs – learning the first rules of the road
  • Building confidence and having fun – through encouragement and small successes

Key Learning Goals for Children (Ages 8–14)

  • Safe braking and shifting – adapted to terrain and riding conditions
  • Stable riding position and active standing posture
  • Cornering with proper technique and line choice
  • Trail riding (S0–S1 level) – including roots, rocks, and small obstacles
  • Pump track riding with a focus on technique – pressure control and balance
  • First small jumps on the bike – playful introduction to getting airborne
  • Riding with one hand – essential for signaling in traffic
  • Starting uphill and in challenging terrain
  • Understanding traffic rules and recognizing signs
  • Safe group riding – communication and keeping distance
  • Building confidence and learning responsibility
