Learn the Key Techniques for Confident Climbing in Alpine Terrain

Level: S2 (intermediate to advanced)
Duration: approx. 6 hours
Elevation: ↑ 1,200 m ¦ ↓ 2,300 m
Start: 9:00 AM – Gotschnabahn funicular, Klosters
Finish: approx. 3:00 PM – Return to Klosters

This day tour is more than just a scenic adventure – it’s your personal training session for mastering uphill riding with your e-bike in alpine terrain! On one of the most stunning trails around the Chörbschhorn, you’ll learn essential riding techniques that will help you tackle steep, technical climbs with confidence and joy.

What to Expect

After taking the Gotschnabahn up to Gotschnagrat, we begin our ride at over 2,000 m elevation. Throughout the day, we stay mostly between 2,000 m and 2,500 m – surrounded by breathtaking alpine views and endless trail flow.

With around 80% of the route made up of singletrack, this tour is designed for experienced e-bikers who are comfortable on narrow trails, loose surfaces, roots, and rocky terrain. Some short, exposed sections may require pushing the bike. The technical climbs become an enjoyable challenge – especially with the right e-bike technique.

We’ll also take a break at a cozy mountain restaurant with a beautiful view.

Learning Goals – What You’ll Take Away

This tour is an excellent opportunity to improve your technical skills on the e-bike. Along the way, we’ll cover key techniques and trail knowledge, including:

  • Cornering uphill on steep terrain
  • Riding over large obstacles and steps while climbing
  • How to properly use your rear brake during uphill starts and climbs
  • Correct body positioning for steep ascents
  • Choosing the right support level on your e-bike
  • Identifying and assessing alpine hazards, such as exposed sections or drop-offs

You’ll also receive helpful tips on setup, gear choice, and using your e-bike’s walk-assist function effectively.
